Project Lead the Way

Welcome to a transformative educational experience at Forest Lake Elementary! Our Project Lead the Way (PLTW) class is a dynamic, hands-on approach to education that equips students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in the ever-evolving world. This program is where STEAM meets career readiness. All students in Kindergarten through 5th grade participate in PLTW through our related arts rotation.

In our PLTW class, students become engineers of their own learning journey. Rather than passively absorbing information, they actively engage in projects that spark their curiosity, ignite their creativity, and cultivate critical problem-solving skills.  As students participate in projects like designing casts for a broken bones, they work collaboratively to tackle real-world issues and create innovative solutions. These projects bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world. Mrs. Carlin Dantzler guides and mentors students throughout their PLTW adventures, fostering a sense of ownership over their learning and promoting collaboration and communication. This class encourages independent thinking, adaptability, and a passion for lifelong learning.

The outcomes of the PLTW experience are tangible. Students not only gain a profound understanding of subject matter but also develop essential 21st-century skills such as teamwork, research, presentation, and adaptability. They learn to think critically, solve complex problems, and communicate effectively – skills that will serve them well in their future endeavors. Forest Lake is excited about empowering the next generation through our Project Lead the Way related arts class!
